When parents, family members and other adults who care for children are given information  they can then become responsible advocates in preventing child sexual abuse in their homes, schools and communities.

The Right To Be Safe, Inc. is here to support this effort by providing prevention education and resources that are easily available.

The Five Stars of Prevention:

The Right to Be Safe is committed to the prevention of child sexual abuse through education and resources to:

  1. Raise awareness on how to prevent child sexual abuse before it happens so that children and families do not have to experience this trauma.
  2. Encourage adults to have a conversation about child sexual abuse rather than remaining silent.
  3. Report this crime to law enforcement so that children are no longer harmed, families are provided support and offenders are held accountable.
  4. Recognize who might be at-risk of committing child sexual abuse in order to thoughtfully intervene early enough so that individuals stop and consider the potential harm their behavior can cause and seek help before they commit their first act of sexual abuse.
  5. Engage teens to talk about healthy sexuality and the life-time development of positive social values so that they are not vulnerable to sexual exploitation and so that they are not at-risk of sexually exploiting someone else.
